Methodology and corrections

Editorial Standards

This page explains how public writing is prepared, what readers can expect from the evidence, and how corrections and material updates are handled.

Evidence before conclusion

Material claims are checked against primary sources where available and established secondary sources where they add context. Figures, dates and quotations are tied to their source and reporting period. A source does not become stronger because it supports the preferred interpretation.

Analysis, scenarios and uncertainty

Reported facts, calculations, interpretation and forward scenarios are kept conceptually separate. A scenario is not a forecast presented as certainty. Important counterarguments, data gaps and conditions that would change the conclusion are made visible when they are material.

Bilingual parity

English and Turkish editions carry the same thesis, evidence and caveats. Translation aims for natural language rather than literal syntax. A material change in one edition requires review of the paired edition before publication.

Corrections and updates

Factual or material explanatory errors are corrected promptly. A material revision receives a genuine modified timestamp and both language editions are reviewed together. Publication dates are not silently refreshed to make older work appear new, and historical versions are not rewritten as if the correction never occurred.

Tools and responsibility

Research, translation, editing and technical checks may use software-assisted workflows. Tools do not replace source review or editorial responsibility. Efe Tanyer remains responsible for the public conclusion, the final wording and whether an item is ready to publish.
